Jungmann property developed by Mrec Investment Management achieved Europe’s highest LEED Platinum score
Jungmann achieved an impressive 89 points in LEED version 4, which is still rare in residential properties. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and the used category in Jungmann project was v4 Building design and construction, New Construction. The achieved score is the highest score in Europe and second highest globally in the category. A concrete example of sustainability achievements of the project is 290 installed solar panels that produce nearly 20 % of annual energy consumption of the property.
The historical art nouveau building JUNGMANN – originally built in 1907 – has undergone a full refurbishment following the highest construction and ESG standards. The property forms a new heart and meeting point of the Katajanokka district by accommodating a wide service mix on the ground floor, including a grocery store, café and restaurants, flower shop, and health and beauty services. It also offers 124 new high-quality long-term rental and serviced apartments. The refurbishment works of the building were completed early fall 2022.
“We are especially proud of the ESG achievements in combination to modern sustainability without compromising the charm of the over 100 years old building, says Ilmo Jäntti, Managing Director of Mrec Investment Management Oy. “
